Echoes In Eternity Antelope Canyon is one of the more renowned slot canyons located in the canyonlands. These slot canyons are carved into the desert floor, sometimes no more than a mere foot in width you literally have to turn sideways and shimmy between walls in some places. Other areas of the canyons open up into large alcoves 60+ feet high. Looking like nothing more than a crack in the ground from above, the true beauty of these slots is witnessed from the canyon floor. If you are there during the right time of the year, and the right part of the day the walls literally glow as the light is reflected off the rocks in the canyons. Colors range from crimson reds, flaming orange and dark violet.

Piercing the darkness Light beams pierce through the slot canyons illuminating the rock walls and creating an absolutely captivating phenomenon to witness. <br><br>Light beams are fleeting and only occur for a brief period of time each day and only if no clouds are blocking the sky overhead. You can actually watch the light beams move across the canyon as the sun moves overhead. As the sun moves through the sky a light beam is only visible for a few minutes before the overhanging rock on the canyon rim completely cuts it off from the depths of the slot canyon below. Light beams are only visible during certain times of the year when the sun’s rays are at the right angle to reach down into the canyon.
