Serenity This shot took a long time to develop, and for awhile seemed as though it would never happen. As twilight arrived the sky was overcast and the peak in the distance was completely obscured by clouds. After a very long wait the clouds finally burned off and revealed an amazing reflection which made the wait worthwhile.

Fall's Doorstep Morning light illuminates the fall colors in the valley below the Bells. Located in the Snowmass Wilderness Area, the Maroon Bells are an iconic symbol of Colorado. Located in the Elk Mountains, the peaks are both part of the fourteeners. (Peaks over 14,000 feet.) They are one of the most photographed locations in all of Colorado.

Distant Goals A signature vivid blue Colorado sky beckons as a snow capped Mt. Sneffels stands high above the horizon in the distance. Fall is just starting to arrive as the aspen groves are just beginning to change their colors. A peaceful solitude descends on the valley.

Winter Of Content In the distance the Castles stand above the fall foliage turning brilliant shades of orange and yellow in the morning sun. The fresh snow from the previous night adds a soft quietness to the scene on a very cold morning.

Breath of Heaven This is one of my all time favorite locations. Mt. Sneffels stands majestically in the background and the aspens are on fire in the foreground. I had tried for this shot the year before, but unfortunately I was there too early, and an early freeze caused leaves to drop before they hit peak color. <br><br> The aspen were lit up perfectly and a snow storm the previous night had dumped fresh snow on the peaks. Unfortunately the sky was a bald blue, with not a cloud in it. I don’t like bald blue skies, and I thought I was going to be shutout again. There’s only a little bit of time in the morning when the light has the warm glow to it. After that the sun is too high in the sky and washes everything out. Then, almost as if on cue, a few clouds blew over the peaks and settled in the valley. Everything fell into place and I got my shot.
