Privacy Policy

I only receive personal information when you give it to me:

• Your name and email address, when you sign up for the newsletter or write to me.
• The details in a message, commission inquiry or wall-preview request, when you send one through a form on this site.
• Your name, shipping and billing address, phone number, email address and payment details, when you buy a print. This happens on Shopify's secure checkout, not on my site.

I also get basic technical information from your visit through Google Analytics: things like the pages you view, roughly where you are (city or region level), and the type of browser and device you use. This does not include your name or email.

• You buy a print.
• You sign up for The Pursuit Begins newsletter.
• You send me a message, a commission inquiry or a wall-preview request.
• You browse the site (analytics, below).

• To process and ship your order, and to write to you about it.
• To answer your questions and requests.
• To send you the newsletter, if you signed up for it.
• To understand how people use the site so I can improve it.
• To keep the site and my business secure.

Checkout is handled by Shopify. When you buy, Shopify collects your order and payment information to complete the purchase. I never see or store your full card number. I receive the order details I need to make and ship your print. Shopify's own privacy policy applies to what it collects: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy

When you sign up, your email address is added to the subscriber list for The Pursuit Begins on Substack. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Use it at any time and you're off the list. You can also email me and I'll take care of it.

Messages, commission inquiries and wall-preview requests sent through the forms on this site come straight to my email. The site doesn't keep them in a database. I use what you send, and your email address, only to reply to you and fulfill your request.

Cookies are small files your browser stores. This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use, and Google Analytics sets cookies for this. It doesn't run on my private editing pages. You can turn cookies off or clear them in your browser settings, and the site will still work. You can also use Google's opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

A few things are saved in your own browser so the site can remember them for you, such as what's in your cart, the pieces you've saved to your Selections, and similar choices you make. These stay on your device. I don't receive them, and clearing your browser's site data removes them. Shopify sets its own cookies once you reach its checkout.

If you use See It on Your Wall with a photo of your room, the photo stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded. If you send me a wall-preview request, I receive only the details you type into the form.

I don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. I share it only with the services that help me run the site and my business, and only what they need to do their job:

• Shopify: store and checkout, payments
• Substack: the newsletter list and emails
• Google Analytics: website statistics
• My print production partner and shipping carriers: your name and address, so your print is made and arrives
• Website hosting and email providers: to run this site and deliver your messages to me

Like any website, this one is hosted by a provider that keeps basic server logs, such as IP address, page and time. I may also share information if the law requires it.

I keep order records for as long as I need them for shipping, support, taxes and the law. Your newsletter address stays on the list until you unsubscribe. Emails you send me stay in my inbox until I delete them.

You can ask me to show you, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, other than records I have to keep for tax, legal or security reasons. Email me at sales@luketingley.com. Some information, such as order and payment data, is held by Shopify, and I'll help you reach them for that.

This site and the newsletter link to other sites that I don't control. Once you leave, this policy no longer applies, so look at their policies too.

This site is meant for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent me information, email me and I'll delete it.

Checkout and this site use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS). Payments are processed by Shopify. No method of sending information over the internet is perfectly secure, but I take care with what I'm given.

I may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when they're posted on this page, and the date above will change.
