Chasing Daylight

Field Edition. Signed, not numbered.

The pasque flower seedheads look like something out of a Dr. Seuss book, which is why they're front and center. Image Lake was the destination, sixty three miles round trip, most of it in heat I had no business hiking in. The whole week was bald blue sky and wildfire smoke, so I never got the clouds over the peak I'd gone in for. On the one evening the smoke blew the other way, the haze that had ruined every other night carried the light instead.
