See the room

An orca mother and two calves in dark green water, with low arctic light filtering down from the surface, northern Norway.

They'd wanted nothing to do with us all morning. When a pod finally came our way I slipped in and dove down about fifteen feet, which sometimes works: get deep enough and they come over to see what you're doing down there. One did, came in close and stayed a moment, then peeled off after the pod. The storm had just broken behind us and the light came down through all of it.
