We'd been snowshoeing up in a couple feet of fresh snow all day, heavy packs and no trail, navigating by GPS because you couldn't see more than a few feet ahead. It was still coming down when we got near the top, and then it opened up enough to just make out the lake below us, every tree loaded. We were soaked through and still had the ridgeline ahead of us.
