Sunlit orange walls of a narrow slot canyon above turquoise water, a large boulder standing in the middle of the river channel.

The light in here never holds still. The walls are tall enough that a spot looks like a different place an hour later, and any composition you find is already on its way out. We'd been up this canyon enough times that I had a rough idea where to be and when. My own lens was in pieces from the Subway earlier that week, so I was shooting a friend's lens that wasn't fully compatible with my camera and focusing by hand. This was one of the spots I got to in time.
