I'd been here a lot of times and never once had the light. It's usually socked in, windy, or there are hundreds of people on the rock. A storm went through the night before, so we hiked up in the dark and waited in the cold with nobody else around. First light hit the peaks as the water went flat, and we walked down as everyone else was walking up.
